Day Camp is a blast! Day Camp for kids is offered all summer long. It begins at 10:00 a.m. with instruction on brushing, bridling, saddling and handling the horse from the ground. Then we head to the paddock for instruction on horseback to develop a good seat and control at the walk, jog and lope. The morning and afternoon rides are approximately an hour and a half, riding both in the paddock and also the trails. There is an hour for lunch which is brought from home. At the end of the day the children unsaddle and put the horses away usually finishing around 3:30 p.m. Book by the week and we will divide up the classes based on skill and experience.
We start children in Day Camp normally at 10 years of age (lessons are available to children under the age of 10). Day Camp is especially fun during the Christmas break for those who have ridden before as well as during March break. Before and after care is available. Children can be dropped off after 8:00 a.m. and picked up before 5:00 p.m.
Being able to control an animal as large as a horse does wonders for a child’s self-esteem and even improves performance at school.
I once read a quote written by Will Rogers: "There is nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside of a horse." I truly believe that!
